Method

The SPACETIME method

Documents look static. Risk moves through time. SPACETIME makes that movement visible — so you can see when risk crystallises and whether changes actually improved the position.

A · Thesis

The temporal risk thesis

Most contractual risk is not visible as a static clause. It appears when a date, obligation, option, notice, payment, trigger, event or dependency is reached. A break date, a notice window, a rent review, a defects-liability expiry, a sectional completion: each sits dormant until time turns it into exposure.

"Documents look static. Risk moves through time."

B · Operating model

The operating model

Every risk on SPACETIME is produced by the same chain. The chain is inspectable end to end; nothing is generated from a black box.

C · AI

What AI does

AI is used for structured extraction only. It reads the source document and returns a structured object with clauses, dates, obligations, sums, deadlines and evidence quotes.

  • Clauses
  • Dates and windows
  • Obligations
  • Sums and thresholds
  • Deadlines and notice periods
  • Evidence quotes from the source

The AI does not classify, score, prioritise or rank risk. Those steps belong to the deterministic engine.

D · Deterministic engine

What deterministic engines do

Rule packs operate on the structured facts. Identical inputs always produce identical outputs. There is no AI in the risk decision.

  • Risk category
  • Severity
  • Confidence
  • Timing
  • Proximity
  • Missing information
  • Response options
  • Residual risk
  • Version deltas

E · Verification

What users verify

Users remain in the loop on every material decision. SPACETIME is decision support, not a decision.

  • Extracted fields
  • Source evidence
  • Lifecycle status
  • Response status
  • Saved snapshots

F · Boundaries

What SPACETIME does not do

  • — Does not provide legal advice.
  • — Does not replace professional judgement.
  • — Does not make final legal conclusions.
  • — Does not guarantee risk reduction.
  • — Does not store raw source documents by default.

Disclaimer

SPACETIME provides decision support and temporal risk intelligence. It does not provide legal advice. Verify outputs against the source document. Professional review may be required. A risk not redetected in a later snapshot does not necessarily mean the risk is gone.
